If you only read one thing

ServiceM8’s official AI connection helps you get on with the day. SureClaw’s custom connection helps us build a clearer picture of your business, so you can spot problems and make better-informed decisions.

The right choice starts with what would make your week easier.

You don’t need more technology.
You need a useful answer.

It’s the end of a busy week. The team has been flat out, the phone hasn’t stopped, and there’s still a pile of admin waiting for you.

You know the work is getting done. But a few questions keep coming back. Are we charging enough? Have we missed anything? Why does finding a simple answer take so long?

That’s a useful way to think about AI in ServiceM8: which of those questions could it help you answer?

First, what is an AI connection?

It lets an AI assistant work with information in ServiceM8, so you can ask for help in ordinary language. You may hear it called an MCP. That’s just the name of the connection technology.

ServiceM8’s official connection is a good place to start. It can help you find job details, catch up on notes and check availability. Here’s ServiceM8’s guide to what it can do.

So what does SureClaw add?

Our custom connection lets us bring more of the information behind your jobs together, including costs, time and completed forms. We use that to build reports and checks around your questions.

For you, that could mean a clearer view of which work is worth doing, a short list of jobs that need attention, or fewer spreadsheets to piece together on a Friday afternoon.

The connection is one part of the work. We also need to set up and check the reports or processes you want to use.

Sound familiar?

Three moments where
a little help could go a long way.

These stories are made up to explain the possibilities. No client information or results are used.

The phone’s ringing.
You need the backstory.

A customer wants to change their booking. At the same time, a technician asks what happened on the last visit. You’re trying to find the notes while keeping both conversations moving.

“Catch me up on this job. Who has time for a two-hour visit tomorrow?”

This is the sort of everyday help the official ServiceM8 connection is designed for. It can bring up the job diary and check availability, ready for you to review the next booking.

What that means for your day
Less searching. A clearer answer for the customer. One less thing to hold in your head.

The calendar’s full.
But is the work paying off?

Imagine you run a plumbing business. You’ve done plenty of repairs this month, but you’re unsure which ones are worth taking on more often. The invoice totals only tell part of the story.

“Once we account for time and materials, which repairs are worth another look?”

With our custom connection and a report built for your business, we can bring those pieces together. You get a way to review pricing with the costs in view.

Look beyond the invoice total
What you charged−Materials used−Labour costs
What’s left before overheads and other costs
A simple illustration. We agree how to handle tax, travel and other costs before using the figures.

And if a cost hasn’t been recorded? We flag it. An honest “let’s check this” is more useful than a confident-looking number you can’t trust.

What that means for your business
A better starting point for deciding what to charge and which work to take on.

“Finished” shouldn’t leave
you wondering.

Now picture an electrical business. Before certain jobs are put to bed, the office needs a completed handover form and checklist. Checking every job one by one has become a Friday ritual.

“Which completed jobs still need something from us?”

We can use the custom connection to build a check around that handover process. Instead of opening every file, your team gets a focused list of things to review.

1Look through the jobs

Check what should be there.

2Pick out the loose ends

Make the missing pieces clear.

3Put them to bed

Your team reviews and acts.

What that means for your week
Less checking everything. More attention on the few things that need you.

Keep it simple

Start with the thing
you wish was easier.

“I need help getting through the day.”

Start with the official connection for finding job information and helping with everyday tasks.

“I need a clearer view of the business.”

Let’s look at the question you’re trying to answer and whether a tailored report or check would help.

You don’t have to choose one forever. Both can have a place. And you don’t need to arrive with a technical brief.

Tell us what you keep chasing, what you can’t see clearly, or what’s taking too much of your time. We’ll start with what ServiceM8 already offers and work out whether anything more is needed.

Common questions

What is the difference between ServiceM8’s official MCP and SureClaw’s custom MCP?

The official connection helps with everyday jobs: finding information, checking availability and making supported updates. Our custom connection lets us bring more of your business information together to build useful reports and checks around the way you work.

What does MCP mean?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. Think of it as a connection that lets an AI assistant work with information in ServiceM8. You don’t need to learn the technology to use it.

Do I need a custom connection?

Only if it solves a problem your current setup doesn’t. We start by looking at what you already have, including ServiceM8’s own reports, AI tools and add-ons.

Can you help me understand which jobs are profitable?

Yes, we can build reporting to investigate that. First we check whether your costs and time records give us enough to work with. If something is missing, we show you the gap rather than giving you a misleading profit figure.

Can I keep using the official connection?

Yes, where your setup supports both. You might use the official connection for everyday job help and our custom connection for a particular report or process. We agree which one does what.

Will this work automatically every week?

It can, if a recurring report or check is part of the work we agree. Connecting ServiceM8 alone doesn’t set that up: we also need to decide when it runs and what your team should review.
